Network Marketing Newbie Faces New Challenges..Training The Key…
It’s no longer like the old days of network marketing. Now that the Internet plays such an active part in most all of our lives, the doors to opportunity have swung open but they have also shut for some. The trick is in making that door open and stay open for you.
The idea of network marketing today is pushing many of us to go beyond our boundaries and find creative sources to help others train better and be better network marketers.
There are many sites out there offering this type of help and many offer turnkey operations to help you promote your opportunity. This can be good or bad. You need to educate yourself and not jump into the first thing you see.
A Fallen and Discouraged Friend
I know someone who had no idea of how to market online. This person was a little computer literate with emails and such but that was all. He fell for the hype this company was giving him and went ahead and committed himself to $5000 for training and website building to get his business online so he could start making money right away.
You guessed it! The training was poorly structured and too slow for results and he eventually gave up but his $5000 debt is still there haunting him every month.
So for the beginner who is strapped for cash, this option is no option at all.
Finding the Right Kind of Help
That’s why; if you’re lucky enough to find a site that gives you free information without wanting all your money in return, stick with it.
Such a site should be able to give you a set generic template of how to train yourself even if you have help from your sponsor. It’s hard to find a dedicated and excellent sponsor that is successful and looking to help you be successful.
There is always something that gets left out and having an information site to refer back to can be a Godsend. A generic training website is priceless as it can help you define your goals and help you follow a path toward success.
Before thinking of going on the Internet with your opportunity, if that interests you, you must start by making some cash right at the beginning. Most likely, you don’t have the money to get started online anyways and you have to make some to spend some.
There are some important factors however that you must consider:
- You must write your purpose for doing this business and set goals to achieve this purpose. These goals should cover what you intend to earn in 6 months, in 1 year, even 2 years from now and how you plan to do it.
- These goals should be able to be measured by the amount of success you achieve along the way. A good example is the number of clients and associates you have retained in the process.
- You should be ready to be coached and accountable to your sponsor. After all, if you don’t learn the business then you can’t do the business. Plus being accountable to someone other than yourself can be the catalyst you need to do that little bit extra that you may not have done if you were only working on your own.
- You must be realistic when you set your goals. If you shoot for a million dollars the very first year you’re in business, there’s a big possibility you won’t reach that goal. Make it reachable taking into consideration your time dedicated to doing the business.
- You should reach your goals or close to reaching your target goals within the time you specified for yourself. If you do not and are really way off your target, then it’s time to re-examine and adjust accordingly. Think of doing this at least every 6 months.
These are only basic points that will get you to thinking of doing your business with purpose and dedication. If you are not ready to do just these basic steps, then you may not be ready to do network marketing.
As for getting on the Internet, the same rules apply, only the approach is different. But that’s a topic for another day.
