New to network marketing?  But you want to get results fast and don’t know what to do?

There are some basic concepts to know if you want to get off to a fast start.

Number one, you have to have a system in place.  Hopefully your company will have thought of this and will provide you with the tools to do just that.

Let me break down some of the components you will need to pay attention to from the very beginning.

  • You’ve got to walk before you run.  How you do that is by getting training on the company, who, what, where, when and how.
  • Learn about the products, their benefits etc.  You don’t have to be an expert but should know the basics.  Make yourself some Q-cards with relevant points.
  • Be knowledgeable about the comp plan, how it works and how you’ll be making money.  After all, if you don’t know how you’re going to make any money, how do you expect to explain it to others?
  • Be sure to get to know your up-line and get their contact information.  You will need it for doing 3-way calls and asking questions if you get stuck.
  • You’ve taken the product and had great results.  Wonderful.  Now create a short 30 second vibrant story that you can share with others.  Don’t forget to include your business in your story as soon as you are having some success to boast about.
  • Make sure you know how to fill out all relevant paper work.  There’s nothing more embarrassing than getting ready to sign someone up and not knowing how.
  • Get familiar with the tools provided.  This is of paramount importance.  These tools will act as a third party recruiter for you.  You first identify your prospect’s needs, then give them right tool that would solve their problems.

Now the above only covers what you need to do as the very first steps. Next, you need to put action to get motion.

  • This is where jogging your memory to write down your contacts is important.  Start thinking of people you know, from work, from playing, from the gym, etc.  Start with only 10 names but before you contact them, make sure you learn how to approach them.
  • Another good thing to learn is how to answer objections and not just answer them but also neutralize them.  Here’s where an experienced up-line can be invaluable.
  • Doing a presentation is also a must.  Usually, there is a format in place to follow that will take you through all the steps.
  • Following-up is the key ingredient in this business that will ensure continued product use and/or getting referrals.
  • You also have to learn how to retail your product.  After all, this is where you will be making the cash to pay for some of your overhead such as brochures, business cards, DVDs etc.

What’s really nice about my business is that I don’t have to worry about retailing my product.  I do have that choice but choose instead to share my story with others.  In sharing, I am rewarded with bonuses and commissions while all the time I eat my overhead.

How great is that?

Once the action is in motion, you now have to start on the actual process of network marketing.  Oh,  you thought that’s what you were doing?  Not yet!

  • Now’s the time to contact those top 10 names on your list, set up appointments, deliver your message, follow-up as agreed and ask for the decision.
  • Following such a basic plan gives you the what, the how and the when.  And when combined with great leadership and strong motivation, your start will be hot and fast.

What you learn should easy to do and as duplicable as possible.  This way the new distributors you sign up can wash and repeat.
