Avoid SEO Deadly Sin # 3..

Written by Marie on Apr 16th, 2009 | Filed under: All Posts, Training

SEOAre you one to have lots of keywords spread out all over your site thinking that this strategy will better your search rankings?

Wrong move!

In the days of “old” that used to work, no longer is that a valid trick.

These days, Google has become the ultimate decipher of dead and empty content.  It has learned over the years how to distinguish between people trying to fudge the results vs real content.

What are these tricks that no longer are valid?

  • ever placed loads of small, small typed your keywords at the top & bottom of your page?
  • ever used a keyword density above 10% giving your text not much sense?
  • ever used “invisible” keywords?  You know the ones where you write white on white.  Well this one can actually get you deleted from Google altogether!

Your only real and foolproof strategy is still to give relevant information that will help your customers solve a problem.  Why bother with anything else?

  1. Hi Marie,
I already know that I do not do keywords right on my blog overall but, at least I have not been doing the old tricks.
I am amazed that people even still try the white on white or super small text. I would have thought they learned better by now. Then again, they probably are to busy planning their next big ‘trick’ to read all the online info. ;)

  2. It is human nature to take the shortest and easiest route. The internet is changing all the time and we need to keep up with the changes. Thanks for the tips! Gary Rust

  3. Do you have any more information on this? pls article if yes !! genuinely appreciated
