I f you’ve been marketing online for a while now, you are familiar with e-books and how powerful they can be at increasing your list of contacts.  You may even have created one or used one to entice people to sign up for your newsletter.

Here is a great little training showing you how you can make an ebook work for you to increase sales over and above just giving it away to increase optin leads.

1:  A smart idea is to give away your ebook, in its entirety, in exchange for people leaving testimonials. These will come in handy for improving your ad copy with live people comments.

2:  Do you have a website or blog? Well, why not publish it in ebook format which you can write to CD disks and include in any of your direct mail packages. It’s a great advertising tool which can lead to sales of your specific products.

3:  When giving your ebook in exchange for contact information, add a little twist.  The contact can only download it if they provide email addresses of 3 to 5 friends that could be interested in your book. This is a great way to build your list.

4:  Getting free advertising can sometimes be tricky. But not if you submit your ebook to freebie and freeware/shareware web sites where people can load your ebook and see your ad.

5:  In a similar fashion, you can hold a contest, submit it to free contest or sweepstakes directories, with your ebook as the  prize. A Google search will list all you need.

6:  A clever way to offer you ebook is to make available only a few chapters. Give people a taste for what they could be getting, then if they like it, they can order the full version.

7:  Sell advertising space in your ebook by charging for a full page color ad, or classified ad or even a banner.  You can even trade advertising space in your book for space in theirs.
