5 Rules For Effective Prospecting In Network Marketing..
Trying to jog your memory for possible hot prospects? Well, there are at least 5 rules you should consider that can make that process easier.
- Consider the prospect’s age first. Is the person at least 25 and older. Most of the people serious about having a home based business usually fall within this category. I said “most”.
- Is your prospect a happy person in a happy relationship? This point may seem a little odd to consider but think about it. If the person is in a sound relationship, this can create a team that works well together and can propel that team to really great success. A common goal is much better worked on by two persons rather than one. If the partner is not interested in the business they can at least offer support for their loved one.
- If the couple is married, or not, nowadays, are there children involved? Sometimes children can be an incentive for the parents to assure that they are providing a great future for their children.
- Now is your prospect employed? It’s OK to approach someone who is not working but you must consider that it will take some income to support the business as it is being built. Will they be able to do that? So maybe it’s best to look for people that are already employed.
- Is your prospect a homeowner? Why does this matter? Well, owning a home is a commitment that takes stability and responsibility, qualities you need in a good prospect. You can also show them how they can pay for their home early.
Using the above criteria can help point you in the right direction and pre-qualify your prospects. After all, you don’t want just anybody in your business.

That’s some very good rules for someone to follow when screening prospects. Especially the rule about finding prospects that are employed. Today with all these layoffs that we here today many network marketers may get tempted to include people that recently lost their job and are desperate to find a new source of income. But unfortunately they don’t make the best MLM prospects and its not to the prospects best interest either.
