Basic Concept of Network Marketing..

Written by Marie on May 30th, 2008 | Filed under: All Posts, Basic Training

There are basically four parts to the basic training you will be learning and teaching. If these four things are done consistently, there will be no room for failure.

Keeping it simple is the key and remember that you are teaching the true meaning of what it is to have a multi-level business at all times.

So how do you do that?

This next exercise may be simplistic in context, or so I thought the very first time I did it, but in reality, it really imprinted on my mind the power of MLM and it’s as easy as 2 x 2.

In fact, it is 2×2. This is teaching the concept of multiplication. You first sponsor 2 people. Then you help them sponsor 2 of their own. Now help them sponsor 2 each. Wash and repeat one more time for 3 deep.

Going 3 deep creates a solid foundation.

Look at the picture here and start by writing down 2×2. You have 4 and then 8 and then 16.

Now don’t be shy, no one is looking but I guarantee that you will feel the difference as you continue with this exercise.

Let’s say that you sponsor 1 more and help your 2 associates sponsor 1 more person. You are now looking at this next equation with 3×3. Notice how the 81 is better that 16.

Let’s add one more person so that you are now working with 4 people and helping them work with 4 and their 4 also.

It’s doesn’t take a brain surgeon to see that 256 people is way better than 81.

Let’s finish with 5 sponsors working their 5 associates. You now have an incredible organization of 625 individuals.

Now all this happened just by sponsoring over a period of time, only 5 people.

Don’t you think that the volume generated by 625 serious people who want to make their business work will provide you with an income that no day job can do? Of course and more depending on how good the company plan is.

Since you should only work with 5 people at a time in order to be effective, you avoid stress and provide outstanding training.

The initial training is the foundation you are laying and just by learning this very simple mathematical presentation you are opening the door to understanding and success.

To summarize: there are 3 essential criteria that each associate will abide by:

  • use the product…your positive results will help build your story…remember that fact tells and story sells. It’s the emotion which will get someone’s attention ie: let’s say your product results are weight loss, it will be your excitement at having lost weight and how you feel that will grab the person you are talking to. Go see an example of this here.
  • each associate must make a written commitment. This is easily handled with a specific form that you make each person sign. Signing binds the commitment into the brain
  • Set goals that are: 1. specific 2. measurable 3. accountable 4. realistic 5. timed

Your sponsor is teaching you these techniques and you are teaching your associates. What could be easier?

Keep Training Super Simple

Since training is the backbone of your business, you must have a plan or format to follow that is:

  1. simple
  2. easy to teach
  3. easy to learn

Remember your goal? To pass down your knowledge so that it can be

  1. easily duplicated by your associate
  2. show them quick results and growth
  3. allow them to do the same with their associates

It’s now time for BASIC TRAINING!

What Is And Is Not Multi-Level Marketing (MLM)?

Written by Marie on May 27th, 2008 | Filed under: All Posts, Marketing 101

Many people have no idea what multi-level marketing really is!

There are 2 things to look at when defining this term:

  1. Marketing: moving a product or service and
  2. Mutli-level: a system of compensation associated with it

It’s just as simple as that!

Oh yes, the first response is that it’s a pyramid. Let me address this topic clearly.

First of all, pyramids are illegal. There never is a valid product or service associated with it.

corporation/business modelIn a pyramid, one is at the top looking down. If you work for someone else, then you are in a pyramid structure. Your boss owns the business and you help him/her to make money. Your value is limited to what you get, based on your hourly wage or salary.

In a networking atmosphere, one is working for oneself but not by oneself.

This inverts the pyramid to bring you income based on the total of involved individuals with whom you work. They make money because you helped them to make money. In turn you are compensated for your efforts. Everyone is helping everyone to succeed.

There are 3 basic methods of moving products:

  1. Retail: This entails buying your product at wholesale cost and selling it for a profit. Any time you purchase something from a store, that is selling to you at retail.
  2. Direct Sales: Includes door-to-door, home parties, Tupperware parties, mail order, etc
  3. Multi-level: Not to be confused with any of the above especially direct sales

Most objections people have regarding MLM are due to NOT REALIZING the differences between MLM and direct sales methods of marketing.

These next points are what set multi-level marketing apart from direct sales:

  • You are in business for yourself but not by yourself
  • You have the privilege of buying your product at wholesale which gives you the option of retailing it should you wish to make a profit
  • You have the option of letting your sales come as the natural result of building your organization. If each of your business partners adheres to the multi-level philosophy where each associate uses what they need to stay active each month, then there would never be a need to sell. It just so happens that as you consume, you will be talking about how great you feel, if this is a health product, and you will naturally pick up customers whether you like it or not.

What about selling you say? You hate selling?

Well, you really are in the business of providing information and coaching others how to do the same. If you like to sell then it’s your option to add that to your portfolio, but if you really are doing this business in its true sense, then selling for profit is not required.

If done properly, you will constantly be working only with your warm market which grows exponentially through your business partners. There will never be a need to “SELL” someone on the opportunity or product.

It will all hinge on the training you received and are providing. You must

  • build your business by teaching the same concepts
  • not worry about selling as you will pick up customers by default
  • and strangers will come to you instead

However, none of the above will be effective unless you are ready to do 3 things which will ensure your success.

But before you read what those 3 things are, you will not get anywhere unless you have a desire to succeed. Ask yourself what % of a hundred your desire reaches. It takes no less than 100%.

3 things to ensure your success:

  1. Sponsor someone knowing that you must
  2. Commit to teaching them all that you know and be
  3. Willing to help them build a successful business of their own

If they fail, then you may have failed in your training approach. Review your steps and see where you could improve. If the fault is yours then become a better trainer. If the fault is theirs then you will be better equipped to recognize the signs of someone not committed to success and drop them. Not everyone can be coached.

On to the next!

Your goal is to only work with people that have a DESIRE to be as successful as you are or want to be.
